Westward, Ho! – Music by German Masters and Their American Disciples – For generations, musicians from Germany have come to the United States, where they founded singing societies, populated orchestras, and taught students across the land. In turn, many American composers traveled to Germany to study and perfect their crafts, returning home to share the fruits of their labors. This cross-cultural program will feature music of Wagner, Liszt, Rheinberger, Foote, Chadwick, Fine, Barber and others as we explore this unique cultural bond.
